Looking for info on a couple of antique oil paintings?

I have two oil paintings that my dad picked up overseas about 50 years ago while in the military. One of them is a scene in Venice with a gondoleer under a walkway. Only the driver is in the boat. The second is of the colosseum and shows two men on horseback on a dirt road in the foreground. The paintings are by the same artist, but are unsigned. Anyone know where I can get info on these?
