Horseback riding does not cause bladder problems. Though if you are messing around in a barn or working around dirt and grime, then go to the bathroom with dirty hands, then you probably do have an infection. I’ve been riding for two years in November and I’ve never had that problem. When you exercise, you get the bowels moving and yes you will more than likely feel the need to use the bathroom, that’s normal my dear. Go see a doctor, you could have a serious problem though, like a urinary tract infection or a bladder infection.

Don’t stop spending time with your horse, he/she has nothing to do with your overactive bladder, don’t listen to that Leonard L guy or whatever his name is, your horse is not the problem. Try to wash your hands BEFORE AND AFTER you go to the restroom, also do what the others have said and drink less before you ride. Good Luck!

no horseback riding cant be the problem! I have been riding for years and if you have a bladder problem than maybe you have diebeties or maybe bladder cancer.

I have been riding for 8 years and I had a bladder problem for a year or so when I started but I never thought it had anything to do with riding…interesting.

This answer may solve your medical concern.

The fundamental for good health is how you juggle diet and exercise.

However, diet is the main concern.

It’s not the horseback riding, but I wouldn’t be around the animal too much either. Limit that as much as possible.

Limit also sugar in your diet.

Get many mosquito or bee stings?

That’s a sign of too much sugar.

Do what a female Doctor once told me many years ago ( I was driving her to N.Y.U. Medical Center). God Bless her.

One clove of garlic a day! Don’t like the after taste?

Listerine, often, every chance you can get.

Do these things, and you’ll be healthy like a bull!

i started riding horses before i could walk and I’ve never had this happen to me or even heard of such a thing happening before. The condition is yours only not caused because you ride horses. continue to seek medical help. I have been riding for over 50 years.

I do not think horse back riding is the cause of that.
I ride and have most of my life.
I drink alot of water but to minimize my bathroom stops I try to not drink much before I ride. Then after I try and make up for it.
I would reduce your fluid intake before you ride.
Maybe the bouncing makes you feel like you have to go.
    Have fun a pony camp.

When you ride you are jolting your tummy around so it may feel like your badder is getting fuller sooner then usual…try drinking after you ride not too much before that may help a little…Good luck in Pony Camp.I went to a camp like that for three summers in row….they are a blast!!

I don’t think horseback riding has anything to do with it. Bladder infections are casued by bacteria introduced to the bladder via the urethra. Have you been tested for diabetes? That can cause overactive bladder.
