poem about rider through woods and ghosts in a ruined building?

I am looking for a poem I read long ago about a male rider riding on horseback through a forest at night and he comes to a ruined building with ghosts in it. He knocks and no one answers and then he says something like ‘Tell them i came’ and goes back. I reckon it was by an american poet. I would like to know the poem’s title, the name of the poet and preferably a link to it!
