How can I be less boring and more interesting to people?

Becca asked:

I have a group of friends who think i am just not entertaining. Not that i’m boring. Now you might think that they are horrible people, but they are my friends and I enjoy them. i just want to be more outgoing and creative. I love art, i’m a horseback rider, and i just don’t know how to be outgoing. I am around lots of others, but I want to be more.

Eh, it depends on the friends you have. If they’re into fads and partying or something that you’re not into, don’t stress it.

“Boring” may be a misconception. Maybe a new hair style, wardrobe or glasses (if you wear em) would achieve some progress.

You’re into art. Look at a local community college for art programs. Even if it’s a drawing or ceramics class. Or if you’d rather enjoy others’ art, look into art galleries/shows in your area and go regularly. Whether it’s fancy, or modest, or in the hallways of someone’s house. You may meet some new friends, and get new experiences to talk about.

Drag one of your friends to a concert at least every couple of months. Or some festivals or parades or whatever interests you.

If they get bored with it, let them. Just enjoy your life.

The only way to do this is to change from your heart and you can’t if it doesn’t interest you, at least not for very long.

At the right time ask them questions about themself’s let them talk about themself’s without much interruptions from you… apart from the …oh I see… that’s interesting…… sort of statement from you …nod and smile occasionally…always works … People will always talk for hours about themself’s and nearly always in a reflective glowing way …..that’s Humans for you ….

Don’t over do it ..pick where \when and who you listen to… and remember some of the points they told you for later conversations ….

Sometimes you just are who you are. when I was in high school, I tried to throw a party. I just realized that I was not a good party thrower. So, I let someone ,anyone , else do that. Think about what you are comfortable with. Just don’t ever let someone else tell you who you are

If they are really your friends, it shouldn’t matter. If they try to exclude you from the group, then find more friends. You have alot of hobbies, maybe if you focus more on your hobbies and maybe join some special interest groups, you’ll find friends that have the same hobbies as you and find you very interesting.
