A good basic horse shampoo I use Orvus….For show prep I might use some specialty stuff and conditioners for mane and tails which I wash, pick and put up weekly.

I love anything and everything made by Eqyss. But if you want something cheaper, Straight Arrow Mane ‘N Tail shampoo/conditioner is good too. You can also use human shampoos and conditioners. Just don’t use both at the same time too often, or your horse’s coat will dry out and become dull. I have used Suave, Pantene, and Garnier products on horses and none of them have had any kind of reaction, so they’re probably safe for all horses.

I use pretty much white and brite (the purple shampoo), its a must for me because I have light colored horses (paliminos and a grey) and horses with white socks. I also used cowboy magic, and I like the absorbine shampoos.

For the mane and tail I like healthy haircare, you mix it with water. Works really well and not as expensive as show sheen.

I LOVE all of Cowboy Magic brand. They have amazing smelling detanglers and their shampoos are very natural smelling.

You can buy Show Sheen to make your horses hair feel like silk.

I’ve never tried making my own shampoo but that would be fun to try.

Mane and Tail. That way i can share with my horses. Its easy to find and is on the shelves at a local pharmacy. I also use cowboy magic on special occasions but it is very expensive.

And for softness I use shampoo for black womens hair. it does wonders and can also be found at pharmacys.

for my horse, i use vetrolin or showsheen on his coat. for mane and tail, i use cowboy magic. that works VERY well. to make his mane and tail soft, put the showsheen detangler in it everyday. it’s like a gellish-lotion, and it detangles and softens.
    hope i helped!

I use mane and tail shampoo and conditioner, but if you want to make the mane and tail really shiny, you can use WD40 and it does not hurt the horse when I am competing that what I use

I just use the plain and simple Johnsons Camomile Baby Shampoo. And to make manes and tails soft and shiney – Baby Oil is great.

if your horse has any white spots you can use quick silver to keep
it looking super bright and nice..and if your horse has dark spots you can use quick black…they both work very very well

also i have found that cowboy magic works SUPER well
to keep my horse soft…main and tale shampoo and conditioner are okay

but cowboy magic is probably the best to keep a main and tail soft

you can get a 16 oz. bottle for only $4.99 at horse.com
    or a 32 oz. bottle for $7.99

I use a normal human shampoo like suave. For the mane I use a shampoo then detangler.

As for the mane and tail, cowboy magic detangler lives up to its name! It is like magic! It detangles, softens, and smoothes out! My cousin uses it on her horses. Mane N tail shampoo and stuff is cool. I like the spray. I don’t have my own horse yet, but I have used it on other horses. One thing that is really good for cleaning legs (especially white ones) is dial soap.

For the manes and tails, I have been using (since it came out) the Pantene Pro-V Beautiful Lengths shampoo and conditioner (conditioner is vital to keep everything nice and soft!)—it works wonderfully and keeps everything silky and smooth…

Before that came out I used the Ice Shine

For their bodies I use this all-natural Oatmeal/Aloe/Vanilla Shampoo that I won one year at a show and it took me forever to track down where they got it from—I get it from a local tack store….Im not sure if there is a website–I believe the brand is “Natures Pets”
